Another Rapper Murdered
Written by Marcus "Blaze 1" Wilson
June 14th, 2007

The recent murder of Queens, rapper Stack Bundles has got me thinking about the elements of this "rap game". Murders of artists within other genres of music are almost unheard of. However, over the years within the "rap game" this situation has occurred far too many times and each incident seems to mirror the previous; the blatant murder of someone’s favorite rapper not to mention a friend or family member and the lack of a suspect or murder conviction. Although many of these cases have occurred in public places there are often no witnesses and if there are witnesses they just so happen to be of the un-cooperating type.

These murders are normally followed by media coverage, a lot of speculation, and many grieving fans, friends and family members. As time passes we all tend to move on with our lives as if all of this is simply the norm. I assume the seriousness of it all doesn’t really set in until we ourselves are affected.

My concern is how do we put a stop to these senseless murders and also how do we make sure that the murderers are apprehended, convicted and punished. In order for this to happen we (the entire hip-hop community) have to be held accountable. We all need to wake the fuck up & stop condoning the negativity associated with rap. We need to follow up with law enforcement officials who are so-called investigating these murders and make sure that they are putting forth the same effort in apprehending the culprit(s) as they would had a young white female been murdered. Oh yeah, we also need to dead that "Stop Snitching" bullshit.

The term "keeping it real" has long been a term used within rap music, but there’s nothing more real than death because there’s no coming back from that.

With his blog being the topic of discussions on the daily, P isn’t letting anyone forget about him anytime soon. And that was the theme at his album release press party at Smash Studios in Manhattan last week
