KRS-One
Signs To Duck Down
(February 29th)
Although
rap has witnessed a string of duet projects
in recent years, this one is really unprecedented
– KRS-One and Buckshot are recording
a joint album on Duck Down Records.
"To say we are honored and humbled
would be an understatement," said
Dru Ha, co-owner of Duck Down.
"Buck and I have known KRS since
our early days in the game, back when
we were recording at D&D Studios,
and he directly influenced the name of
the label with his [Boogie Down Productions]
song 'Duck Down.'"
According to a press release, three tracks
have already been recorded for the LP,
and Buckshot says the pairing flowed naturally
in the studio.
"This collaboration with KRS-One
is going to be an album full of hip-hop
conversation, ranging from New World Order,
to socially conscious topics such as unemployment,
poverty, and politics," says Buckshot.
The duet album is slated to drop later
this year.
