Comedian and Actor Ricky Harris Dies of Heart Attack at Age 54
Comedian and actor Ricky Harris known for his comedic contributions to hip-hop died Monday at age 54.
According to his manager, Cindy Ambers, Harris passed away Monday after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Harris the son of a preacher grew up singing in the choir of his father’s church in Long Beach, CA.
His career took off after a successful performance on “Def Comedy Jam” in the 1990’s. He appeared on Snoop Dogg and Tha Dogg Pound’s albums performing various hilarious skits as DJ EZ Dicc, TaaDow, and Saul-T-Nutz. Harris also played Malvo, a recurring character on the TV sitcom “Everybody Hates Chris.”
Harris is survived by his mother, ex-wife and two daughters.
Celebrity friends including Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer paid tribute to Harris via social media.
